Seventy-seven agro-pastoral groups from the South West Region have received CFA 374 Million funding from the Programme for the Improvement of Competitiveness of Family Agro-Pastoral Farms (ACEFA). The ACEFA National Coordinator, Dr. Bouba Moumini, handed over group cheques to beneficiaries recently in the Buea Council Hall. Both South West Regional Delegates of the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER) and Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA) supervised the event. The money will help construct infrastructure, modernise and increase production capacities of crop, animal and fishery farmers from Meme, Fako, Ndian and Manyu Divisions in the Region. Recipient farmer-groups are expected to sign subsidy agreements with ACEFA spelling out the implementation of financing by donors and production by farmers to enhance crop and protein production in Cameroon.
