Local Producers Decry Unhealthy Competition

The production of gravel is carried out by local and foreign enterprises. Local producers however decry unhealthy competition by Chinese companies operating quarries stating that these foreign firms benefit from the 2013 investment promotion law as against local producers who started the business before 2012. Gravel is supplied from the quarry site to the construction site at a cost of FCFA 100 per ton.
