Muyuka : Rural Electrification Envisaged

Other development projects are equally earmarked to make life better for the inhabitants of the Muyu

Inhabitants of Muyenge, Bafia and Likoko localities which are cocoa hubs in Muyuka municipality are nursing fresh hopes as the Muyuka Council envisages to provide them with electricity for the first time. This is coming after several failed attempts by the Muyuka Council to have ENEO light up those parts of the municipality. Nkeng Michael Akami, Mayor of Muyuka was addressing the situation on December 21, 2017 as he presided over the 2nd Ordinary Session of Muyuka Council for 2017 dedicated to the adoption of the 2018 Budget.

The Council budget for 2018 stands at FCFA 1 billion. With this, the Council has earmarked the construction and equipment of a block of two classrooms at Government School Owe and the provision of 200 benches to some schools. Three classrooms at Government Bilingual School Group I Muyuka and blocks of two classrooms at Muyenge will be embellished. Muyuka Council plan to construct an ultra-modern market at Muyenge and slaughter hangers in Muyuka market. Given that Muyuka is largely agrarian, the Council plans to rehabilitate farms to market roads. Roads in the neighbourhood will equally be given attention. Nkeng Michael sai...
