Things will never be the same again in the North West Region. The 2018 Public Investment Budget (PIB) for the region is promising with over FCFA 18 billion allocated for the region. Prominent among the projects is the construction of the Babadjou-Bamenda stretch of the road that for now is a nightmare to users. Streets in the city of Bamenda that are in a very deplorable state and municipal roads in other towns of the region will also get a facelift and in some cases, lighted with the use of solar system energy. The young University of Bamenda and its specialised schools will also benefit from several investment projects such as construction of more lecture halls, supply of electricity and equipment in 2018.
As the Head of State announced in his end-of-year message to the nation on December 31, 2017, that more attention will be paid on water, electricity and health facilities, the North West is tipped to benefit from such projects with rural electricity, construction of boreholes and health centres programmed in almost every part of the region. These projects including studies for the construction of Agricultural and Technical High School in the North West are indeed mouth-watering and life-changing for the region.
