“Cameroon Is Committed To Intra-African Trade Principles”

“This is my first visit to Cameroon as individual and as AU Commissioner for Trade and Industry. I have been able to brief Cameroonian authorities on the work that we are doing which is the creation of African financial institutions, the African Central bank, the African Investment Bank and the African Monetary Fund and also the creation of a continental free trade area. On December 2, we are going to put before the ministers three principal documents which are, the agreement establishing the continental free trade area, the protocol of trade in goods and that of trade incentives. After approval from the ministers, the President of Niger who champions continental free trade area process, would present the document in the summit in January. Other issues discussed underlined the fact that Cameroon is committed to the principles and objectives of the AU.
