The commodity mostly cultivated in the West Region seldom has a stable price over a particular period of time. The price fluctuation surrounding the fruit vegetableis likened to that of the currency market where prices changed within the twinkle of an eye. In the Sandaga market in Douala, a basket of good quality tomatoes that sold at FCFA 5,500 May 20th, sold at FCFA 6,500 two days after. The same quantity of tomatoes, not as good looking as the former, sold at FCFA 4,000 same day. According to Raphael Momget, a tomatoes seller, a basket of the fruit vegetable sells up to FCFA 12,000 during the end of year.
