Abandonment of Projects: Some 89 Enterprises Indicted

Within the framework of the process to clean up the public procurement system and fight against the phenomenon of abonnement of public contracts projects, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Public Contracts, Ibrahim Talla Malla, has given a 21-day ultimatum to some 89 enterprises that abandoned one or more projects during the 2018 and 2019 financial years. Minister Talba Malla’s warning is contained in a communique which says that defiant enterprises will be suspended from public procurement system for two years as well as the annulment of the contracts. He urges all stakeholders’ especially project owners and heads of public institutions to forward within ten days names of deviant enterprises.
