Douala-Edea National Park, Lake Ossa Wildlife Reserve: Management Model In Gestation

The Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife (MINFOF) is poised at developing an emergency response plan aimed at defining a management model for marine and lake protected areas of the Douala-Edea National Park and the Lake Ossa Wildlife Reserve. According to a tender notice to recruit a consultant to conduct a feasibility study towards providing equipment and infrastructure to secure the protected areas, the objective of the move is to safeguard biological resources and promote values through multi-stakeholder involvement and local development. Amongst other things, the management model will develop eco-tourism activities around the protected areas.
