ICTs: Digital Technopole, Datacentre In view

The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications through the Central African Backbone (CAB) Project has announced plans to construct a digital technopole and a Datacentre. The project sponsored by the African Development Bank, according to Minister Minette Libom Li-Likeng’s tender notice, entails the establishment and management of a large pole of innovation and digital incubation (tecnopole) in order to offer a favourable environment for the emergence of disruptive technologies by allowing the development of applications, software etc. while serving as an accelerator for Cameroon’s start-ups. The feasibility studies announced will also incorporate a Security Operations Centre in order to strengthen cybersecurity and improve the digital trust framework in Cameroon for the emergence of e-commerce amongst others.
