The country’s four cement producers achieved a total turnover of FCFA 191.9 billion in 2018, according to a compilation of the figures published by the ‘Pan African’ magazine Jeune Afrique, then confirmed by internal sources of the Cameroonian tax authorities. Dangote Cement Cameroon, the local subsidiary of the eponymous Nigerian group, continued to dominate the market, with a turnover of FCFA 86.4 billion in 2018, for sales having officially peaked at 1.2 million tons, as it was already the case during the year 2017. CIMENCAM, a local subsidiary of LafargeHolcim, number 2 in the market gets away with a turnover of FCFA 70.7 billion in 2018. Cimaf Cameroon controlled by Moroccan Addoha, closed the top 3 with a turnover of FCFA 28.5 billion. MEDCEM Cameroon (controlled by Turkish Eren Holding) made FCFA 6.3 billion over the period reviewed.
