eventy-seven agro-pastoral groups from the South
West Region have received
F CFA 374 Million funding
from the Programme for the Improvement of Competitiveness of
Family Agro-Pastoral Farms (ACEFA).
Group cheques were handed over
to beneficiaries
recently in the
Buea Council Hall
by the ACEFA
National Coordinator, Dr. Bouba
Moumini. The
event was supervised by both
South West Regional Delegates
of the Ministries
of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER) and Fisheries and
Animal Industries (MINEPIA).
The money will help construct
infrastructure, modernise and increase production capacities of
crop, animal and fishery farmers
from Meme, Fako, Ndian and Manyu Divisions in the Region. Recipient
farmer-groups are expected to sign
subsidy agreements with ACEFA
spelling out the implementation of
financing by donors and production
by farmers to enhance crop and
protein production in Cameroon.
Grants to producer groups range
from F CFA 500.000 to F CFA 6 000
